Caribbean skies were painted red on Saturday night at the nearby presence of Matthew powerful hurricane in the Caribbean.
Images taken by Frankie Lucena from the island have been published by specialized media in atmospheric issues and even the British tabloid Daily Mail when Aruba was recorded near a red spectrum or "atmospheric elves". These are electrical phenomena that occur as bursts of red light in milliseconds during a storm and are very difficult to observe.
In the spaceweather.com website where the images were published, it indicated that atmospheric elves are rare in hurricanes because lack of electrical activity.
